This Just In: Owls Don’t Make Great Ringbearers

One of the most important parts of a wedding ceremony is the RINGS.  And yet, a lot of couples put a lot of faith in unreliable ring bearers.

Usually, those unreliable ring bearers are young kids, but one couple has discovered that it’s also not a good idea to pick a ring bearer with WINGS.

A couple in the U.K. had a wedding last month, and for some reason they had an OWL serving as the ring bearer.  It’s a “Harry Potter” thing, but still.

Things did not go according to plan, and the owl flew off with the rings, and “refused to come back for SEVEN HOURS.”  The wedding was in an abbey, and it flew up and perched itself on a window sill, very high up.

The owl’s professional handler desperately tried to lure it down with a piece of chicken, but that didn’t work.  Eventually, they gave up and went on with the ceremony, without the rings.  The owl DID eventually return, with the rings, but that wasn’t until well into the night.
