Bad News Roundup: Exorcisms, a Brain-Bleeding Disease, and Saying No to Slinky

Normally we like to focus on good news stories that uplift you.  Well, this is the opposite.

Here is some news that is BAD:

1.  The CDC has issued a global travel warning because they’ve seen an uptick in Dengue Fever.  If you didn’t know, Dengue Fever is an incurable disease that causes your brain to bleed.

2.  There’s a new Covid variant called BA.3.2 that is surging in over 20 states.  Apparently, it can spread easier and might be able to evade protection from current vaccines.

The new Covid variant has been detected in the following US states:

California, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Wyoming.

3.  A group of historians in Pennsylvania opposed a plan to change a building that housed railroad artifacts into a Slinky museum.  We could’ve had a museum dedicated to Slinkys.  And now we have nothing.

4.  And a surge in Satanism has caused Pope Leo to host a bunch of exorcists at the Vatican.  But here is something hopeful:  The Catholic Church is training the exorcists to fight evil across the world. (But they have a lot of work to do.  Especially with the Anti-Slinky crowd.)
