In a way, EGGNOG is the CRANBERRY SAUCE of December. Except, with booze. (Unless you also SPIKE your cranberry sauce.) Eggnog can be really divisive. So who’s buying it?
Instacart looked at their sales data from last year’s holiday season, and put out a map with the states that LOVE eggnog, and the ones that HATE it.
The state that supposedly loves eggnog the most is New Hampshire. Nearby Vermont is second, followed by Alaska, Maine, Oregon, Wyoming, Utah, Washington state, Wisconsin, and New Mexico.
The state that can’t stand eggnog is: Florida. Maybe it starts curdling under all that warm weather, or the snowbirds aren’t into it. Hawaiians also don’t dig it.
The rest of the 10 states that don’t like eggnog as much are: New Jersey, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Louisiana, and California.
Other items that SURGE in popularity during the holidays are: Rich red meats, like ribeye roasts, prime rib, and tenderloin roasts, fruitcake, gingerbread cookies, and antacids, you know, for the aftermath.
