If you thought it was rough CAROLING throughout your entire subdivision, just imagine doing it across your entire STATE.
A 63-year-old man in the U.K. named David Purchase broke a world record by signing Christmas songs for 42 HOURS straight, without losing his voice. He did it at a brewery, and people popped in throughout to cheer him along.
He started at midnight on Wednesday of last week and finished last Friday, after singing 684 songs. And no, he didn’t know that many different ones.
David chose 38 songs, which he repeated 18 times each. Stuff like “Last Christmas”, “Jingle Bells”, and “Step Into Christmas“.
He could only have a five-minute break every hour, and between each song he could take a break of just 20 seconds.
The previous record was a woman from Nigeria named Ewaoluwa Olatunji, who sang Christmas songs for 31 hours straight two years ago. So David eclipsed that AND tacked on another 11 hours.
You can find videos on this Facebook page. Unfortunately, there’s no footage of the very end. Here’s David still sounding good with “I Believe in Father Christmas” 41 hours in. And here’s another clip.
