The 15 Cities with the Worst Traffic

A couple weeks ago, Americans shared all the things we were THANKFUL for.  But enough of that:  What was the BIGGEST WASTE OF YOUR TIME in 2025?  How about these increasingly slow commutes?

A report looked into traffic congestion across the country, and found that the typical driver lost 49 hours to traffic jams in 2025.  That’s a SIX-HOUR jump from last year.  (But returning to the office was SO vital for productivity.)

On average, congestion resulted in $894 worth of time lost per driver, costing the country $85 billion.  That’s an increase of 11.3% from 2024.

Here’s a ranking of the 25 cities that suffered the most amount of congestion:

1. Chicago, Illinois

2.  New York City, New York

3.  Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

4.  Los Angeles, California

5.  Boston, Massachusetts

6.  Miami, Florida

7.  Atlanta, Georgia

8.  Houston, Texas

9.  Washington, D.C.
