Seven Ways We’re Rude at Weddings Without Realizing It

If you’ve been to a wedding in the past two months or have one coming up before the holidays, you’re not alone.

According to The Knot, October is now the most popular month to get married.  17% of weddings happened in October last year.  41% happened in September, October, or November.

“Huff Post” asked experts to list the top ways people are RUDE at weddings without realizing it.  Are YOU guilty of any of these?

1.  Monopolizing the couple’s time.  They’ve got a lot of people to talk to.  So don’t take too much of their time, or be offended if it feels like they ignore you.

2.  Making a spectacle.  That includes big things like PROPOSING at someone’s wedding, or just getting too drunk.  But even something like upstaging them on the dance floor can be seen as rude too.

3.  Stealing flowers.  Don’t take that centerpiece without asking them, or asking the wedding planner.  They might have plans for it.  Same applies for leftovers.

4.  Requesting songs.  It depends on the wedding.  But a lot of couples make playlists now and put a lot of thought into it.  So if the DJ says no, just drop it.

5.  Oversharing.  You see it in wedding toasts a lot, but it happens in casual conversation too.  Don’t reveal something embarrassing about the couple unless you KNOW they’ll be cool with it.

6.  Taking photos during the ceremony.  Yes, your iPhone 17 camera is great.  But don’t play wedding photographer when they hired a REAL one to be there.  You’ll just getting the way and ruin the actual wedding photos.

7.  Pointing out something that went wrong.  Most weddings have hiccups.  If you notice something’s off, point it out to the staff.  No need to loop in the couple, or their wedding party.
