If you’re a criminal, the only thing worse than being caught and having your mask ripped off by Scooby-Doo and the gang, is being caught by a grown man in a Batman onesie.
A 20-year-old burglary suspect in Florida named Justin Schimpl was “apprehended” by an adult man named Kyle Myvett, who was wearing BATMAN PAJAMAS at the time.
Kyle was in bed at around 2:00 A.M. on Wednesday morning, when his home security cameras alerted him to a man breaking into his truck.
He called the cops, and then went outside and heard the same suspect ransacking his neighbor’s garage. He sprang into action, and detained him until officers arrived.
Kyle later told the police, “I grabbed a hold of [his] shirt and right wrist and told him, ‘Listen, don’t try to get away, I have plenty of experience with this.'” (That wasn’t a reference to Batman, Kyle has worked in Corrections.)
He added, “I’m really glad I had my Batman pajamas on because that gave me the extra confidence I needed.”
The police believe Justin stole multiple items from Kyle and his neighbors, including two pairs of $300 Ray-Ban sunglasses, cash, a woman’s wristlet, and more than $500 in gift cards.
He was arrested and charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors.
