Food Tastes Better After You’ve Had a Little Booze

Have you ever wondered why brunch tastes so much better than a normal meal?  It could have something to do with the booze that you’re pounding.  Because according to science, alcohol might make your food taste better.

A research study published in 2015 set out to make sense of this phenomenon.  They gave half the women alcohol, and half the women a saline solution.  And afterwards they all ate lunch.

The women who had alcohol prior to eating said that their food tasted better, and they ate more than the women who didn’t have any alcohol.

Similarly, in a test with men, they gave some a vodka and orange juice cocktail, and others just got orange juice.  The study concluded that those who drank alcohol had an increased appetite for high-fat, savory foods.

The most interesting part of the study suggested that people actually feel REWARDED when eating high-fat foods after drinking alcohol.

So, there you have it.  If you aren’t feeling your meal, you could always add in a little booze.  It might help it taste better.
