Five Random Facts for Friday

Here are some random facts for you.

1.  Eating a high amount of garlic, 12 grams or more, can make men’s body odor (like, armpit sweat) smell more attractive and less intense, and not “garlicky.”

(That’s what the science says, but not everyone agrees. One woman says, “My boyfriend loves garlic.  He made garlic oil and spreads, and ate it damn-near every meal for two weeks.   He did NOT smell more attractive.”)

2.   The average American will supposedly eat 35,000 cookies in their lifetime.

3.  Scientists estimate that only 5% to 10% of cancer is caused by genes.  Cancer mostly comes from a combination of our environment, lifestyle, chance, and getting older.  But a bad family history of cancer IS a risk factor worth discussing with your doctor.

4.  There’s a “McBoat” McDonald’s location in Germany, which has a float-thru instead of a drive-thru.  You paddle up to a dock, place your order, and it’s brought out to you by the staff. (Here’s a video of this happening.)

5.  The Luna moth only survives six or seven days once reaching adulthood, because it has no mouth and dies of starvation.  Their sole purpose in life is to reproduce.
