The Best Airline in America Is the Jankiest One?

Asking people for their “favorite airline” is like asking them for their favorite type of kale.  But even then, you wouldn’t expect them to say that their favorite is the JANKIEST one.

WalletHub has put out a list of the Best Airlines in America.  They included the NINE largest U.S. airlines, plus TWO regional ones, and compared them across 16 metrics, like cancellations and delays, mishandled baggage, entertainment options and Wi-Fi, leg room, price, and safety.

In the end, the #1 airline is:  Spirit Airlines.  (???)  That’s even despite scoring ZEROS on entertainment options, legroom, and free refreshments.

Here’s the rest of the ranking:

2.  Southwest Airlines

3.  SkyWest Airlines

4.  Alaska Airlines

5.  Hawaiian Airlines

6.  JetBlue Airways

7.  Delta Air Lines

8.  American Airlines

9.  Frontier Airlines

10.  United Airlines

11.  Envoy Air

Best Airlines

Speaking of airlines, the CEO of United supposedly “pitched” a blockbuster merger with American Airlines during a meeting with President Trump.

There’s no official comment from either airline, and there’d definitely be scrutiny over a merger that big, but anything is possible.
