Stupid Criminal: A Woman Broke Into Someone’s Home, Inside a Chicken Coop?

Say what you want about Florida, but West Virginia can deliver some baffling crimes too.

A woman in West Virginia named Anna Groves broke into a CHICKEN COOP on Tuesday, where two humans “are currently residing.”  Yeah, it’s the home of an adult woman named Ashley and her father, James.

Anna was allegedly threatening to kill Ashley as she was breaking in.  Ashley was sleeping, and woke up scared, and STABBED Anna as she forced her way inside the coop.

Anna and another guy she was with ran off, apparently to the hospital.

The police were called, and they investigated the situation.  They found Anna at the hospital, and she denied threatening to kill Ashley, but she did admit to going there to,  “beat her a**” because she owed her money.

This raises a lot of questions, and there aren’t many answers.

No charges are being filed against Ashley for the stabbing, because she was protecting herself in the coop.  But Anna IS being charged with felony burglary, apparently for breaking into the coop.

And just to be clear:  No, this is NOT an April Fools’ Day prank.

The local Sheriff’s Office posted about this on Facebook, and there are some amusing comments . . .

One person said, “First rule of the chicken coop:  What happens in the chicken coop, stays in the chicken coop.”  One said, “When someone runs a-fowl of the law, West Virginia’s stand-your-ground laws apply to chicken coops.” Another said, “She showed them who runs that roost.”  And another said, “I live in this town, in a regular house . . . and this is definitely not a joke.  I mean it’s hilarious, but I’m aware of these folks and it all checks out.”
