Maxell Is Bringing Back Its Classic Tape Player

You’ve probably heard about how VINYL has had a major resurgence, and now, CASSETTES are having a moment.  (At this rate, that Green Day “Dookie” CD will finally be worth something soon!)

Cassettes are becoming so trendy again that the electronics company Maxell is bringing back its classic personal tape player.  And they’ve even added modern features like Bluetooth and USB-C charging.

Unlike some modern devices, they did NOT nix the headphone jack.

The battery life is decent, at about 11 hours of Bluetooth playtime.  And the player comes with a BELT CLIP for that nice, old-school feel.

They aren’t cheap though.  Maxell’s list price is $100, but Amazon has them for around $80.  And if you want to get back into mixtapes, you can grab a five-pack of blank cassettes for around $15.

(There’s more on the specs at Maxell-USA.com.)
