If you were ever in a situation where you wanted to give a fake name, would you try one from pop culture? And if so, which one?
Last week, police in Florida confronted a 30-year-old man because they thought he resembled someone with an active arrest warrant.
When they asked him his name, he said, “George Costanza.” (Jason Alexander’s character from “Seinfeld”, of course. Want to feel old? This 30-year-old would’ve been TWO YEARS OLD when “Seinfeld” ended.)
He was NOT George Costanza. They later ID’d him as Josiah Darling through facial recognition. Josiah was then arrested on the outstanding trespass warrant, along with an added charge for resisting an officer.
(Here’s Josiah’s mug. He looks more like an Art Vandelay. And here’s a clip from “Seinfeld” where George says, “It’s not a lie if you believe it!”)
