One of the common hacks for saving money is: Cooking your own meals. There’s just one problem with that: You have to ENJOY your own cooking. Fortunately, most people seem to be okay with that.
A new poll asked people to rate their cooking prowess, and 43% of people claim they are a GOOD cook. 30% say they’re just OKAY.
On the extremes: 19% consider themselves a GREAT cook, while just 7% say they totally SUCK at it. Of those, 5% describe themselves as “bad” and 2% said they are “terrible.”
36% of people cook every day, another 40% cook “a few times a week”, another 10% cook “once a week”, 4% cook “once a month”, 6% cook “less than that”, and 2% “never” cook.
40% say they cook MORE than they did 10 years ago. This surely involves MANY people in their 20s and 30s.
23% say they cook LESS than they did 10 years ago. This surely involves older folks, and maybe some lazy people who have discovered delivery apps or moved in with a partner in the past 10 years.
Overall, 88% of people say homecooked meals are healthier than delivery, 74% say they’re better tasting, and 42% say they’re more convenient.
