If you’re hosting or hitting up a party for Super Bowl Sunday, what’s on the menu? Or, if you live in Delaware, maybe I should just ask what you like on your pizza.
Super Bowl Sunday is the second-biggest pizza day of the year, behind only New Year’s Eve. And someone looked at internet search data to try to figure out WHERE it’s the most popular.
Here are the 10 states that order the most pizza on Super Bowl Sunday:
1. Delaware. Philadelphia is the city with the highest pizza demand for Super Bowl Sunday, and the way the data was groped, Philly was categorized as Delaware, for some reason. So I guess that’s a big reason why.
Philly was the #1 pizza city for the Super Bowl in each of the past eight years.
2. Michigan
3. Pennsylvania. Even without Philadelphia, apparently.
4. Florida
5. Ohio
6. Arizona
7. Nevada
8. Maryland
9. Illinois
10. South Carolina.
The state that’s LEAST into pizza on Super Bowl Sunday is North Dakota. Possibly because the pies get cold while you’re waiting for it to be delivered from another state that has pizza places.
Vermont is next, followed by Alaska, Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota. (You thought I was joking, but all of those places are fairly remote. Also, and maybe more notably, none of them have an NFL team.)
