National Take Down Your Christmas Tree Day! Do You Know Why It’s Always the 6th?

If you’ve still got a big dried-up fire hazard sitting in your living room, today’s the day to ditch it . . .

Happy National Take Down Your Christmas Tree Day!  It’s the day you’re traditionally supposed to toss it out on the curb.  (Or mulch it, or eat it.)

It’s always the 6th, because the 12 Days of Christmas ended last night.  Per tradition, you’re supposed to keep your tree up until all 12 days have passed.

We’re also getting to the point where real trees are just too dry, and not safe anymore.  So that’s another reason to do it.

If you’re not ready to put your FAKE tree back in storage yet, hey, you do you.  But even if you’re not traditional, it’s probably time for the real ones to go.

Technically, you’re supposed to take ALL your Christmas decorations down today.  So, if you’re ready to start judging your neighbors for still having their lights up, there’s your excuse.
