National Popcorn Day is coming up on the 19th. And you know you’re a true fan of the stuff if you do this . . . Cinemark is bringing back its “bring-your-own popcorn bucket” promo for a second year. But there’s a way to get an OBSCENE amount of it this time.
Last year, you could bring in any container and get up to 400 ounces of popcorn for $5. That’s just over three gallons, which is already a ton. Their normal $5 extra-large is half that size. But this time, you can get up to FIVE gallons.
They’re teaming up with the hardware chain Lowe’s. If you bring in one of their BLUE BUCKETS, they’ll fill it to the brim.
Those five-gallon buckets are normally for things like mixing paint, so, maybe clean it first. But they’ll also have food-grade bucket liners if you need one.
They’re running the promo for two days this time instead of one. Popcorn Day is the 19th, but they’re doing it on Sunday the 18th too.
Another important note: The press release specifically says you DON’T have to see a movie to get in on the deal. You can just show up with your Lowe’s bucket, get your five gallons of popcorn, then go home and watch Netflix.
