Two projects featuring Charli XCX will premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival: The Moment, the Aidan Zamiri-directed mockumentary starring Charli as a pop star, and I Want Your Sex, the Gregg Araki-directed erotic thriller featuring Charli in an undisclosed supporting role.
The Moment was conceived based on an original idea from Charli XCX, who sought to fictionalize her experiences rolling out an album and embarking on a debut headlining tour while also satirizing the music industry. She stars alongside Rosanna Arquette, Alexander Skarsgård, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, and several others, including Kylie Jenner, A.G. Cook, and Shygirl.
I Want Your Sex was co-written by Araki with Kayley Scortino, and stars Olivia Wilde as a provocative artist and Cooper Hoffman as her sexual muse. Charli XCX will feature along with Daveed Diggs, Chase Sui Wonders, Mason Gooding, Johnny Knoxville, Margaret Cho, and more. Both films will receive their premieres at the festival, which will be held from January 22nd to January 27th in Park City, Utah.
That’s not all for Charli XCX at the cinema in 2026. She crafted the soundtrack to Emerald Fennell’s upcoming adaptation of Wuthering Heights, for which she’s already revealed the singles “House” (feat. John Cale) and “Chains of Love.” Charli will also appear in Cathy Yan’s upcoming thriller The Gallerist, which stars Natalie Portman, Jenna Ortega, and more.
