Stupid Criminal: A Guy’s “Come Back with a Warrant” Doormat Didn’t Keep Cops Away

I bet this guy’s kicking himself for not buying a doormat that said, “Just Go Away” . . .

A man in Florida was being investigated by the cops, and he had a novelty doormat that said “Come Back with a Warrant.”  So they did.  (Here’s a photo.)

They say 57-year-old Chris Musick of Daytona Beach had been posing as a real estate investor, creating fake documents that made it look like he owned a bunch of properties.

He used them as collateral to take out big loans and buy other properties. Then he’d rent those places out, pocket the money, and never pay back the loans.

Cops said their Financial Crimes Unit interviewed him and established enough probable cause to, “execute a search warrant, thereby satisfying the doormat’s request.”

He’s facing forgery and grand theft charges.

(Here’s his mugshot.)
