She can buy herself flowers, but he bought her an engagement ring! Miley Cyrus and Maxx Morando are engaged after four years of dating, Page Six can confirm.
The couple initially sparked engagement rumors when they walked the red carpet together for Monday’s world premiere of “Avatar: Fire and Ash” in Los Angeles.
Cyrus, 33, and the fellow musician, 27, posed for pictures together as she made sure her show-stopping diamond set in a thick gold band was front and center in every shot.
Jewelry designer Jacquie Aiche was later confirmed by her rep, Francesca Consulting, to have custom-made the ring. Francesca Consulting also shared details of the bauble, noting that it’s a cushion-cut stone set in a “chunky” 14-karat yellow gold band.
For Monday night’s outing, Cyrus stunned in a black strapless sequin gown with a structured bodice, ruffled skirt and train, while Morando looked handsome in a classic black suit and white collared shirt. Just a few hours after the couple walked the red carpet together, Maxx’s dad, Dan Morando, shared a congratulatory post on his social media — further confirming the news.
While posting photos from a private celebration at what seemed to be a sushi restaurant, he gave fans a close-up look at Cyrus’s ring.
He also shared photos of the couple hugging and smiling as they celebrated their engagement with friends and family, captioning the post, “❤️ 💍🍾🎉.”
Cyrus — who was married to actor Liam Hemsworth from December 2018 to January 2020 — was first pictured wearing the ring in mid-November, according to Deuxmoi.
The singer-songwriter also showed off the bauble while celebrating her birthday last weekend.
Holding her hands up to her face while marveling at her birthday cake, Cyrus captioned a two-photo Instagram post, “33 is already burning bright thanks to the warmth of your sweet birthday wishes. All I want this year is more laughs with the people who give me the little smile lines that are starting to show up. 🤍 I love you all.”
In 2023, Cyrus told British Vogue that she began dating the drummer — who currently plays for the band Liily after his stint with The Regrettes — a couple of summers prior.
“We got put on a blind date,” she revealed at the time before clarifying, “Well, it was blind for me and not really for him.”
The “Hannah Montana” alum soft-launched the romance in November 2021 by including Morando in an Instagram carousel featuring photos from Gucci’s “Love Parade” fashion show, which they attended together.
The following month, the pair was spotted getting close at the televised “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party” in Miami. During commercial breaks, Cyrus was caught on video dancing with Morando backstage.
When the duo was seen making out in LA in April 2022, a source told E! News six months later that their relationship was “very serious.”
Morando then accompanied Cyrus — for whom he has produced songs — to the 2024 Grammy Awards, where she won record of the year and best pop solo performance for her hit track “Flowers.”
Not only did the lovebirds engage in a celebratory smooch, but she also gave her “love” a shout-out during her acceptance speech.
Days later, People reported that Cyrus and Morando were living together.
“She is very happy with him,” a source said at the time. “Miley has changed a lot in the past couple of years. She seems more calm and harmonious.”
The source added, “Everyone loves Maxx. He’s a great guy. … He’s private and doesn’t like being in the press. It’s been good for her.”
Two months later, Cyrus — a millennial — told Harper’s Bazaar how she and Morando — a member of Generation Z — navigate their age gap, gushing that he “inspires [her] so much.”
