1. “The Running Man” (R) Trailer
Glen Powell stars in this remake of the 1987 action movie. Both were based on a 1982 Stephen King novel about a violent game show where contestants have to survive while the network’s hunters (and ordinary citizens) try to kill them.
This one is a more faithful adaptation of the novel, with Powell’s character Ben Richards volunteering to participate on the show in a desperate effort to save his daughter’s life after he gets blacklisted and can’t find work to afford her medicine.
In the Arnold Schwarzenegger version, the runners were all convicted criminals and Arnold was forced to play after being framed for a crime he didn’t commit.
Josh Brolin is the guy pulling the strings, “The Running Man’s” executive producer Dan Killian, and Colman Domingo is the show’s host. Michael Cera and William H. Macy are also in it as people who help Ben while he’s on the run.
