Halle Bailey is ready for her solo era.
Today (Oct. 8), the 6x Grammy nominee announced her official debut album, Love? Or Something Like It, will be arriving by the end of this month. She shared the exciting news with dreamy trailer posted to her social media accounts. The brief but showstopping clip sees her in the center of a dark room, wearing a flowy red gown and narrating the prelude to what she’ll reveal through her music.
“Once upon a time, there was a girl who believed in love,” she softly says over the ambient instrumental. “She believed everyone belonged to someone, soul for soul. All she wanted in life was to find the truest form of love. Was that even possible? And here’s what happened.”
The “Do It” singer promised to bring listeners on a ride through the ups and downs that come with love as a journey that never ends. “love? or something like it’ — my debut album. a story of first love, heartbreak, and everything that comes after. out 10/24. this one means everything to me. ♥️ presave link in bio,” she wrote. Halle has welcomed her supporters into her own world with singles like “Back And Forth” and “Braveface” (2025), “In Your Hands” (2024), and “Angel” (2023) over the last few years. Her main career highlight has been her starring role in The Little Mermaid in 2023, which went on to achieve both box office and cultural success.
Although the forthcoming project marks her official solo debut project, the singer is almost a decade in when it comes to professionally releasing music. After gaining popularity on YouTube by releasing covers, she and her sister Chloe signed to Parkwood Entertainment in 2016 for a five-year contract. During that time, the duo steadily cultivated their fanbase with projects like The Two Of Us (2017), The Kids Are Alright (2018), and Ungodly Hour (2020), and garnered five Grammy nominations together.
