Katy Perry wrote her song “The One That Got Away” about Josh Groban. (Josh also has a song about Katy. It’s called “I Really Dodged a Bullet”. I’m kidding!)
A new poll asked, “Is there a person who you consider to be ‘the one that got away'”? And 39% of people said YES. Here’s the breakdown:
11% of people said, “There’s someone I currently feel this way about.” Another 28% said, “There’s previously been someone I felt this way about.”
46% “have never felt this way about someone”, and 16% “don’t know.”
Men were more likely to say they have “someone who got away.” And it was more common among Millennials and Gen X’ers than Boomers and Gen Z. (Who may not have had enough time for it to happen to them.)
