Five Random Facts for Friday

Here are some random facts for you.

1.  The entirety of Wikipedia can be downloaded, and the total file size is smaller than the latest “Call of Duty”.  And it’s not close.

2.  Elton John’s song “Philadelphia Freedom” was written as a favor to his friend, Billie Jean King, because she was on a professional tennis team called the Philadelphia Freedoms.  The team lasted for one season.

3.  Julia Louis-Dreyfus was offered the part of Mia in “Pulp Fiction”, but she turned it down because of her commitments to “Seinfeld”.

Other actresses who were considered were Jennifer Aniston, Joan Cusack, Laura Dern, Bridget Fonda, Melanie Griffith, Daryl Hannah, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Meg Ryan, before it eventually went to Uma Thurman.

4.  Three NFL teams have never had the first overall pick in the draft:  Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens, and Seattle Seahawks.

5.  There have been nine songs that were number one hits for two different artists.  The most recent was “Lady Marmalade”, which was number one for Labelle in 1975 and for Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, Mya, and Pink in 2001.
