New in Theaters: “Nobody 2” and Spike Lee’s “Highest 2 Lowest”

1.  “Nobody 2”  (R)

Bob Odenkirk returns as Hutch Mansell, a former government assassin known as “Nobody”.  In this one, he tries to reconnect with his family on a vacation away from all the violence.  But after some punk picks on his daughter, he runs afoul of local crime boss Sharon Stone and a corrupt sheriff played by Colin Hanks.

Connie Nielsen, Christopher Lloyd, and RZA are all back as Hutch’s wife, his dad David, and adopted brother Harry.

WARNING:  The trailer has profanity at 2:29 and at 2:42.

 

 

2.  “Highest 2 Lowest”  (R)

Denzel Washington plays a record producer whose plans to buy back control of his label are disrupted when A$AP Rocky tries to kidnap his son, but ends up kidnapping the son of his friend / chauffer (Jeffrey Wright) instead.

It’s directed by Spike Lee and is a modern remake of a 1963 Japanese movie called “High and Low”.

Ice Spice is also in it.  This is her acting debut.

3.  “Americana”  (R)  Trailer  (Limited)

Sydney Sweeney plays a shy waitress who overhears someone offering a half million dollars to whoever can steal a rare Native American artifact for him.  So she teams up with Paul Walter Hauser to try to get their hands on it.  But chaos erupts after someone beats them to it, and then Halsey steals it from that guy.
