Revenge: A Dealership Repo’d a Woman’s Car, So She Bought the Dealership’s Name

They say you don’t mess with Texas, but in Ohio, you don’t mess with Tiah.

There’s a woman in Ohio named Tiah McCreary, who went to the Taylor Kia dealership in February of last year to buy a 2022 Kia K5.

They helped her finance it through a lending company, and Tiah was pre-approved for a loan.  But a month later, that company decided they didn’t want to finalize the loan, so the dealership went out and repossessed the car, while Tiah was at work.

She was NOT amused, and found a way to get revenge.

While Tiah was looking into her legal options, she discovered that the car dealership failed to renew the registration of their business name, Taylor Kia of Lima, so Tiah registered it under her own name.

Then she sent the dealership a cease-and-desist letter, telling them they couldn’t use the Taylor Kia name because it was now registered to her.

They sued her, and the case is STILL tied up in the courts, but the most significant ruling so far has gone Tiah’s way, so she’s at least succeeded in being a thorn in their side.

No matter how it turns out, it’s kinda badass to see someone getting REVENGE like this, even if there was some legitimacy to the loan being rejected, for whatever reason.

The next hearing is set for August 18th.

(And even if she can’t retain control of the “Taylor Kia” name, there’s nothing stopping Tiah from opening a competing dealership, Tiah Kia, right next door.)
