Signs are pointing toward Chappell Roan releasing her new single, “The Subway,” next week.
Ads have been spotted on telephone poles around New York City featuring a photo of Roan sporting bangs and a rat in her hair with the caption, “Going through a break up? Get Bangs!” Also tucked inconspicuously in Roan’s hair is a bread fastener that reads, “Best Before August 1,” which points to next Friday as the single’s release date. See the ad below.
Roan fans have been chomping at the bit for the song’s official release after the artist performed the song live at 2024 festival dates, including Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Bonnaroo. She also played the tune at this year’s Primavera Sound festival in June. Watch that performance below.
