Five Random Facts for Tuesday

Here are some random facts for you.

1.  Fire-related calls to fire departments are most prevalent on Saturdays, while “severe weather” calls peak on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

And in general, fire departments across America are the busiest in January and July, POSSIBLY due to the Fourth.  They’re the least busy in April.

2.  No one has ever won the Oscar for Best Actor in their debut movie.  Four women have won Best Actress in their debut, including Julie Andrews for “Mary Poppins” and Barbra Streisand for “Funny Girl”.

3.  There are 1,600 Chili’s locations around the world, and apparently, all of them have a picture hanging upside down somewhere in the restaurant.  They say it’s for good luck.

4.  Both Coke and Pepsi made special cans of soda for astronauts in the mid ’80s.  They looked almost like cans of whipped cream.

5.  From a botanical standpoint, strawberries and raspberries aren’t berries, but bananas and eggplants are.
