Five Random Facts for Thursday

Here are some random facts for you.

1.  The last known group of woolly mammoths survived until about 1650 B.C.  That’s around a thousand years AFTER the Pyramids of Giza were built.

2.  The first feature film ever made from a Marvel comic book was “Howard the Duck” in 1986.  And it bombed.

3.  There are four Black hockey players in the NHL Hall of Fame:  Three men (Grant Fuhr, Jarome Iginla, and Willie O’Ree) and one woman (Angela James).

4.  Ohio is the only state that doesn’t share any letters in its name with the word “mackerel.”  Every single other state name contains an m, a, c, k, e, r, or l.  And that’s about as obscure as trivia gets.

5.  On hospital TV shows, CPR saves people’s lives about two-thirds of the time.  In real life, it only saves people’s lives about 10% to 20% of the time.
