A TEQUILA-SOAKED TURKEY almost burned down an apartment building in Madison, Wisconsin on Sunday. The person cooking it had marinated the whole turkey in tequila. It’s a recipe you can find online with a quick google search.
It had only been in the oven for eight minutes when they called 911 after the oven door BLEW OPEN.
Firefighters showed up and used a thermal camera to check the oven, then opened the door and blue flames shot out.
There was so much booze in the bird that the vapors accumulated in the oven. They think they just weren’t venting enough and became EXPLOSIVE when exposed to oxygen.
They ended up removing the entire oven from the person’s apartment. Thankfully, it didn’t start a big fire, so no one was hurt.
