One of the biggest viral terms to come out of 2024 was “rawdogging” flights. It’s basically avoiding all tech and entertainment while flying, and just staring at the seat in front of you.
Now, there’s a sequel.
There’s a new TikTok that talks about “barebacking” on a train or subway, which is commuting, without preoccupying yourself with your phone, video games, or even old-school stuff like books, newspapers, and magazines.
You can stare off into space, or just look at other people, which can be risky depending where you are. (People in some cities are not super cool with people glaring at them on the subway.)
Some reports are saying this is a form of “return to office rebellion”, but honestly, it could also be a way of mentally unplugging or recharging.
(Warning: There’s Uncensored Profanity in the TikTok. It’s a list of the worst habits by commuters. The “barebacking” part is at 1:28.)
