Taco Bell Is Testing Chicken Nuggets

Some would argue Taco Bell has NEVER served “Mexican” food.  And their march away from it continues . . .

They’re testing new Crispy Chicken Nuggets at locations in Houston this month.  They also did a small test run in Minneapolis last year.

Their Nacho Fries have been popular, so maybe nuggets are the logical next step?  They do at least include a few ingredients associated with Mexican food.

They’re infused with a jalapeño buttermilk marinade and coated in crushed-up tortilla bits.  They also come with one of two sauces:  A new “Bell Sauce”, or a Jalapeño Honey Mustard.  A five-piece costs about $4, and a 10-piece costs $7.  No word on when they might offer them nationwide.

This isn’t actually the first time they’ve dipped their toe in the chicken nug game.  They also had something called Naked Chicken Chips back in 2017.  They were triangular chicken nuggets you dipped in nacho cheese.  Fans were upset when they got discontinued.
