Lady Gaga kicked off her “The Mayhem Ball” tour at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on Wednesday, July 16th, playing a 27-song set that ran just over two hours.
During the performance, which featured four acts followed by a finale and encore, Gaga touched on her entire discography, ranging from hits and deeper cuts from her debut effort, The Fame, to her latest release, Mayhem (one of the best albums of the year).
The setlist was similar to her recent one-off show at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro and headlining performance at Coachella, but with additions including “Applause,” the live debut of “Kill for Love,” and the first performance of “Summerboy” since 2007. Switching between light and dark looks, she pulled extensively from Mayhem, alongside hits such as “Poker Face,” “Paparazzi,” “Born This Way,” and “Shallow.”
Visually, “The Mayhem Ball” pushes Gaga’s gothic vision further than ever, with new costumes, pyrotechnics, and dramatic set pieces including oversized skulls and a sweeping spiral staircase. Also of note is the the show’s powerful encore, which sees Gaga—stripped of makeup and costume—performing “How Bad Do U Want Me” a capella in her dressing room backstage.

The North American leg of Lady Gaga’s “Mayhem Ball” tour will continue with two additional dates in Las Vegas on July 18th and 19th, followed by multi-night stands in Los Angeles, New York City, Toronto, Chicago, and other cities.
