It FINALLY sounds like the cable and satellite companies are REELING from people “cutting the cord” for streaming-only options, and yet, they’re still as overpriced as ever.
DirecTV just announced yesterday that it’s buying its rival Dish Network, after DECADES of on-and-off talks about the two services merging.
And get this: The price DirecTV is paying for Dish is . . . $1.00.
But it’s just $1.00 because they’re agreeing to assume Dish’s BILLIONS of dollars in debt.
The deal hasn’t officially closed yet. There are still a few hurdles . . . including Dish bondholders accepting a reduced debt deal.
Customers probably won’t experience any big differences, at least at first. DirecTV says they don’t have any plans to make changes to the existing Dish brands, for better or for worse.
