Eight People, Including Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, Who Were Rich Before They Got Famous

Not everyone in showbiz is a rags-to-riches story.  Some of them go from riches to EVEN MORE RICHES.  Here are eight of those cases . . .

"Lone Ranger" star Armie Hammer:  His great-grandfather on his dad's side is an oil tycoon, which allowed his father to start several successful businesses that the family still owns, including a publishing house and a film and TV production company.

Adam Levine:  His father Fred Levine founded and still runs the upscale clothing company M. Fredric.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus:  Her great-grandfather founded the Louis Dreyfus Group, a massive commodities and shipping conglomerate.  Today, Julia's father is a billionaire.

Rashida Jones:  This one's a no-brainer.  Her dad is legendary music producer Quincy Jones and her mother is actress Peggy Lipton, best known for the '70s TV series "The Mod Squad".

Lana Del Rey:  Her father Robert Grant was a copywriter for the Grey Group, a global advertising and marketing firm.  He went on to make a fortune in both real estate and in buying up and re-selling Internet domain names back in the '90s.

(He seems to be one of the first people who saw the value in doing that.  It's a pretty interesting story, which you can read about here.)

Anderson Cooper:  His family fortune stems from his great-grandfather Cornelius Vanderbilt, a shipping and railroad tycoon.  His mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, is a world famous fashion designer.

Ariana Grande:  Her mother is the CEO of a communications firm and her dad is a graphic designer.

Taylor Swift:  Her father is a financial adviser for Merrill Lynch, and comes from a long line of investment bankers.
