LORDE recently took a shot at SELENA GOMEZ, by criticizing Selena's song "Come and Get It". She said, "I love pop music on a sonic level. But I'm a feminist.
"And, the theme of her song ['Come and Get It'] is, 'When you're ready come and get it from me.' I'm sick of women being portrayed this way."
Well, Selena wasn't thrilled to hear that. She tells "Flaunt" magazine, "That's not feminism. [Lorde is] not supporting other women.
"That's my honest opinion, that's what I would say to her if I saw her. I actually covered her song ['Royals'] in all of my shows that I've done so far. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue that."
Lorde is sticking by her comment. She says, "I think there's a funny culture in music that's only happened over the last 15 years, and that is: Haters.
"That if you have an opinion about something in music which isn't 100% good, you're a hater, even if you have perfectly reasonable grounds for that critique. I mean, I don't think I say anything that isn't backed up."
It's sort of funny to hear Lorde talking about a change in music culture over the past 15 years, when she just turned 17 yesterday. And it's funny to hear Selena calling Lorde an anti-Feminist for not supporting her right to sing about a woman who is basically just waiting around for a man to “Come and Get It”.
