Ellen Page Has Come Out of the Closet

There's been speculation about ELLEN PAGE'S sexuality for a while, but now it's official:  She's a lesbian.

Ellen came out of the closet on Friday, while speaking at the Human Rights Campaign's "Time to Thrive" conference, which is about helping LGBT youth.

In the middle of her seven-minute speech, Ellen said, quote, "I am here today because I'm gay, and because maybe I can make a difference, I'm tired of hiding and I'm tired of lying by omission . . .

"I suffered for years because I was scared to come out.  My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered.  And I'm standing here today, with all of you, on the other side of the pain."

Ellen also slammed a recent "story" from EOnline.com, which criticized her for wearing sweat pants to the gym.  It included the line, quote, "Why does this petite beauty insist on dressing like a massive man?"  E! hasn't commented, but interestingly enough, they did take the story off their website.
