We're a little disappointed in ourselves, because when we saw this story, we thought, "We've made out with our dogs for way longer than THAT."  Earlier this week, the Planet Dog Company Store in Portland, Maine held its ninth annual Valentine's Day DOG KISSING contest.

The winner is the person whose dog makes out with them the longest, either tongue-on-tongue, or JUST dog tongue-on-human face.  And the winner this year was a woman named Linda Walton of Saco, Maine, who made out with her dog Beau for 45.8 seconds. She gets a $75 gift certificate to the store.

Second place was 16.8 seconds, third place was 11.7 seconds.
