A Man Wins $1 Million When a Store Clerk Accidentally Gives Him the Wrong Lottery Ticket
8/20/2012
This will NOT happen to you. Last week, Richard Brown of Taunton, Massachusetts (seen here) went to a Valero gas station and asked the clerk for a $5 scratch-off lottery ticket.
He asked for a game called Blue Ice 7s, but the clerk was distracted and stocking cigarettes, and accidentally gave Richard a $5 ticket for a game called Sizzlin' 7s.
And when Richard scratched off THAT ticket, he won $1 MILLION. The odds of winning that grand prize were about one in 4.2 million.
He took the lump sump, which is about $650,000 before taxes. And the Valero will get $10,000 in commission.
