One-Quarter of Couples Have Lied About Being On Their Honeymoon To Get Free Stuff

7/30/2012

Have you ever tried to pull that move on vacation where you lie to the person at the airline counter and say that you're on your honeymoon, to try to get bumped to first class?  Or to get a room upgrade?  Or at least, like, a free drink?

Believe it or not, you didn't invent that move.  Someone else probably already tried it at that same airline or hotel THAT DAY.

In a new survey, 23% of people admit they've lied about just getting engaged or being on their honeymoon to try to get an upgrade.  The survey didn't ask people how often it's worked.
