Alice @ 96.5’s Bill and Connie in the morning are getting set to once again Step Up The Holidays for STEP 2…a local organization that helps women and their families in recovery.  STEP 2 is a comprehensive substance abuse treatment program that provides women and their children suffering from chemical addiction, poverty and domestic violence the opportunity to rebuild their lives. The result is self-sufficient healthy families. STEP2 is happy to boast a 63% success rate for their women battling chemical dependency compared to the national average of 17%. 

For the last decade Bill and Connie have taken their show on the road to help collect donations of basic household, kitchen, and baby items.  You can make a difference with a simple donation November 19th  and 20th.   

Suggested items include: women’s and children’s winter clothing, shoes and coats, microwave ovens, vacuums, bedding (queen or smaller), towels, baby blankets, car seats, strollers, pillows, pots/pans, dishware, beds (no bigger than a double bed), dressers, kitchen utensils, alarm clocks, telephones with answering machines and whatever else one would need to start their lives over.

This year Bill and Connie are teaming up with PODS the moving and storage experts to make it even easier to donate.   Also, large furniture donations are accepted with pickup available by calling STEP 2 direct at (775) 787-9411.
