Snoop Lion's Thoughts on Gay People in Hip-Hop
SNOOP LION has NO ISSUE with gay people, but the gay community probably has some BEEF with Snoop. During an interview with Britain's "Guardian" newspaper, Snoop was asked if he thought FRANK OCEAN coming out of the closet would pave the way for other gay rappers.
And Snoop had this to say: "Frank ain't no rapper. He's a singer. It's acceptable in the singing world, but in the rap world I don't know if it will ever be acceptable because rap is so masculine." He went on, "It's like a football team. You can't be in a locker room full of mother[effing] tough-ass dudes, then all of a sudden say, 'Hey, man, I like you.' You know, that's going to be tough."
To be clear, Snoop added, "I don't have a problem with gay people. I got some gay homies." And last week, Snoop told the paparazzi he was cool with gay marriage. (TMZ has video of that.)
