Last year, Coachella started the hologram thing with a TUPAC SHAKUR "performance," and so that has some people talking about who they'd like to see in hologram form at this year's festival, which kicks off NEXT weekend.
iHeartRadio conducted a survey to find which dead singers the festival should resurrect, and somewhat surprisingly, more fans would like to see a WHITNEY HOUSTON hologram than one of JOHN LENNON or JIMI HENDRIX.
Here's the Top Seven:
1. Whitney Houston, 22.4% of the vote
2. John Lennon, 19.1%
3. Jimi Hendrix, 19.1%
4. Bob Marley, 17%
5. The Notorious B.I.G., 9.0%
6. Kurt Cobain, 8.7%
7. Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys, 4.8%
To be clear, there's no indication that Coachella is doing another hologram, although, who knows. It did generate a ton of publicity last year. (Here's video of the Tupac hologram.)
iHeartRadio also asked people which band they'd MOST like to see put out new music. The Number One answer was: LED ZEPPELIN. Here's the Top Seven:
1. Led Zeppelin, 26.8% of the vote.
2. Hootie & the Blowfish, 20.1%
3. Outkast, 20.0%
4. Spice Girls, 12.1%
5. Rage Against the Machine, 8.4%
6. Third Eye Blind, 8.1%
7. The White Stripes, 4.6%
Unfortunately, there aren't any further details on the poll, so it's unclear if they provided options to choose from, or if it was an open field. We also don't know how many people participated, or how it was conducted.
