An Inauguration Official Says Beyonce Did Not Sing Live

1/24/2013

The biggest question facing our nation today has finally been answered.  Sort of.  BEYONCÉ did NOT sing the national anthem live at PRESIDENT OBAMA'S inauguration on Monday.  We think.  We still can't be 100% certain, because this comes from an ANONYMOUS SOURCE.  However, CNN claims it's an inauguration official who asked not to be named.

This source said, "Because she didn't have time to rehearse with the Marine Band, she decided to use her recording with the Marine Band.  It was all Beyoncé."  Still no word from Beyoncé.

Fab from Milli Vanilli and Steven Tyler Have Beyonce's Back, And So Does Aretha Franklin, Sort Of

Even if BEYONCÉ did lip-sync the national anthem on Monday, nobody in the music business seems to care.  Especially FAB MORVAN . . . the surviving member of the most notorious lip-syncers of all time, MILLI VANILLI.  Fab says, "It's hard to believe, in this day of auto-tune, that people are still acting surprised.  Everyone knows Beyoncé can sing.  Everyone should just step back and relax.  There are far more important things to worry about.  But I can certainly relate to what she's going through."

STEVEN TYLER is sticking up for her, too.  But only because she's SEXY.  He says, quote, "Beyoncé's so hot she can do anything.  Let's just get real, alright?"  (Here's video.)

ARETHA FRANKLIN seems to be in Beyoncé's corner as well, although her reaction was a little odd,  She says, "When I heard the news I really laughed.  I thought it was funny because the weather down there was about 46 or 44 degrees and for most singers that is just not good singing weather.  When I heard that I just really cracked up. I thought it was really funny, but she did a beautiful job with the pre-record, next time I'll probably do the same.

Aretha adds that when she did "My Country 'Tis of Thee" at Obama's 2009 inauguration, she did it live because, "I wanted to give people the real thing and pre-recording never crossed my mind."  She also said, "Having come face to face with 28, 22 degrees I am not surprised she pre-recorded."

Meanwhile, LeAnn Rimes defended Beyoncé on "Jimmy Kimmel Live", and Jennifer Lopez did the same on "The Daily Show".  You can read more about that here.

Alicia Keys and Michelle Williams also stuck up for her.  You can read about that here.
