The Associated Press Has Named Adele Their Entertainer of the Year

The Associated Press has named ADELE their "Entertainer of the Year", even though she didn't release a new album or tour this year.   (Basically, she recorded the new James Bond theme, popped out a kid, and sat around watching "21" continue to sell like crazy.)

The AP says she ended up with WAY more votes than the next few names:  Taylor Swift, "Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James, "Gangnam Style" singer Psy and the cast of "Twilight".

The "award" is supposed to go to "the person who had the most influence on entertainment and culture in 2012."

The AP has been recognizing an Entertainer of the Year for SIX years now.  The previous winners were:  Lady Gaga in 2011, Betty White in 2010, Taylor Swift in 2009, Tina Fey in 2008 and Stephen Colbert in 2007.
