John Mayer Won't Be Able to Sing for Another Six Months

Aside from the fact that he got to date KATY PERRY, JOHN MAYER has had a rough year, and it isn't getting better any time soon.  He had surgery on his vocal cords last October, and went MONTHS without being able to sing.  He attempted a comeback tour this past spring, but had to cancel it because the problem flared up again.

Earlier this summer, he said he was focusing on writing, because he STILL couldn't sing.  And now, it looks like he's going to be on the shelf a lot LONGER.  In a post on Tumblr, John says he's back on total vocal rest, "Well, here I am.  Silent for the next few months, [and] no singing for probably six, but all signs point to this being the last step in getting to perform again.  Back to notebooks and iPad to communicate for the time being."

He ended with this, which I thought was a classy, grounded thing to say . . ."I hope this finds you each and all very well.  And I know I'm not the only person hoping that six months from now they'll have a chance to do what they love so much, so good luck with your thing too."
