The People Who Identified Zooey Deschanel As a Boston Bombing Suspect Have Apologized
The captioning company that identified ZOOEY DESCHANEL as a suspect in the Boston bombing has apologized. Last Friday, the Fox affiliate KDFW was running a report on the bombing, and the closed captioning identified the suspect as, "19-year-old Zooey Deschanel".
As you probably know, the guy's real name is Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Not even close, right? (Check out a screenshot here. And for the record, Zooey's 33.) (Yahoo)
Well, the company that made the error was Caption Solutions out of Lawrence, Kansas. And the company's president has issued a statement saying they, "sincerely apologize for this error."
Zooey took the screw up in stride, though. Over the weekend she Tweeted, "Whoa! Epic closed captioning FAIL!"
We don't care about the apology as much as I care about HOW and WHY this happened. It's such a bizarre error, we feel like we need to know the details.
