"Dancing with the Stars" Rumors: Kellie Pickler, Wynonna Judd, "Bachelor" Sean Lowe and Aly Raisman
The new cast of "Dancing with the Stars" won't be officially announced until TOMORROW, but here's a comprehensive rundown of the latest rumors online:
TMZ claims country stars KELLIE PICKLER and WYNONNA JUDD are onboard, along with current "Bachelor" SEAN LOWE and Olympic gymnast ALY RAISMAN. You may remember how amusing Aly's parents were to watch as she was performing at the Olympics. So if this is true, her parents will surely get tickets to the studio, and we'll get more of that hilarity. Here's that video again. Aly may also be the odds-on favorite to WIN already, since three former Olympians have won in the past: Apolo Anton Ohno won Season Four, Kristi Yamaguchi won Season Six, and Shawn Johnson won Season Eight.
There's also speculation that "Bachelorette" EMILY MAYNARD could be involved, and there's been talk that VANESSA HUDGENS might do it.
Celebrity chef BOBBY FLAY says he's NOT doing it, even though HollywoodLife.com reported that his deal "is close to 100%" done. The site also claims San Francisco quarterback COLIN KAEPERNICK "has been asked" to do it.
'80s singer TIFFANY has told "OK!" magazine she wants to do it, and the "New York Daily News" reported boxer VICTOR ORTIZ has also signed on. They also said the producers wanted KOURTNEY KARDASHIAN.
By the way, there is one "star" who has been made official. In a teaser commercial that ran during the Oscars last night, ABC revealed that Baltimore Ravens wide receiver JACOBY JONES is onboard. The ad said, "Jacoby Jones just won a Super Bowl ring, what's he going to do next? Dance." After the Super Bowl, JIMMY KIMMEL had asked Jacoby if he'd do "Dancing with the Stars", and he responded, "Do polar bears poo on ice?" Jacoby came up HUGE in the Super Bowl. He returned a punt 108 yards for a touchdown, and he also caught a 56-yard touchdown pass.
Finally, former "So You Think You Can Dance" finalist LINDSAY ARNOLD Tweeted that she's doing this coming season. And dancers CHERYL BURKE, TONY DOVOLANI and DEREK HOUGH have said that they'll be back.
Meanwhile, TMZ also reports that dancer MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY has left the show, and will not be on the upcoming season. He's been talking about leaving for a while now, but last we heard he was going to finish out his contract, which included this coming season and the next, and would be gone in 2014. But now, "sources" say he told the producers last week that he wanted out, so he could pursue other movie and TV projects. It's unclear what those are. His brother VAL CHMERKOVSKIY will be back though.
By the way, dancer CHELSIE HIGHTOWER told the paparazzi that she's NOT participating on the upcoming season either, and it was the show's decision, not hers. When asked about the show, she said, "I'm not on . . . I can't say." When asked to elaborate on her departure, she added, "Not by choice, not by choice. Sometimes we take breaks." (TMZ has video, which you can see here.)
