Who Were the Big Winners at the Golden Globes?

The Golden Globes went down last night, and the movies "Argo" and "Les Misérables" were the big winners, along with the cable shows "Homeland" and "Girls".  ("Homeland" airs on Showtime.  "Girls" is on HBO.)

In the movie categories, "Argo" won Best Drama, and BEN AFFLECK won Best Director, also for "Argo".  (This should make Ben feel a little better about being snubbed by the Oscars when they announced their nominees last week.)

"Les Misérables" won Best Musical or Comedy, and two of its stars also won, HUGH JACKMAN won Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy, and ANNE HATHAWAY won Best Supporting Actress.

By the way, ADELE'S "Skyfall" theme won Best Original Song, and she gave arguably the most amusing acceptance speech of the night.  (You can see the video, here.  Note:  TAYLOR SWIFT doesn't look too amused 22 seconds in.  She was also nominated in the category.)

In the TV categories, it was all about cable, the broadcast networks didn't win anything.  "Homeland" won Best Drama Series, and its stars CLAIRE DANES and DAMIAN LEWISwon Best Actress and Actor in a Drama.

"Girls" won Best Comedy Series, and LENA DUNHAM won Best Actress in a Comedy for her work on the show.  HBO's "Game Change" won three Golden Globes, including Best Miniseries or TV Movie.

Here are a few other highlights:

JODIE FOSTER gave a great speech, where she came out of the closet.  Basically.

WILL FERRELL and KRISTEN WIIG tried to have some fun while presenting the Best Actress award, and pretty much everyone but TOMMY LEE JONES enjoyed it.

TINA FEY and AMY POEHLER did a decent job as hosts, and ended the night with a GREAT line, saying, "We're going home with Jodie Foster."

They also had some fun at the expense of JAMES CAMERON and JAMES FRANCO in their opening monologue.  (You can see video, here.)
