"Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" made $141.3 million at the box office this weekend.  Here's how that breaks down, The movie had the fifth-best opening day ever, making $71.9 million on Friday alone, although that number is slightly inflated because it counts Thursday's 10:00 P.M. screenings too.  But that's NOT a franchise record.  "New Moon" beat it by about $1 million, having made $72.7 million on its opening day back in 2009.

("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2", "The Avengers", and "The Dark Knight Rises" had bigger opening days than both of them.)

In terms of the entire weekend, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2's" $141 million ranks at #8 on the all-time list.  And again, the only "Twilight" film that did better was "New Moon" with $143 million.
